Hastings River Fish Talks

OzFish is teaming up with Charles Sturt University to host an evening of fish talks in Port Macquarie!
Join us to hear from experts, researchers, and local champions who are leading the way in fish habitat restoration.
This event will inspire, educate, and connect you with the people and projects making a real impact in the Hastings River catchment and beyond.
Our waterways are the lifeblood of our environment, supporting vital fish populations and countless aquatic species. But with increasing pressure from habitat degradation, pollution, and climate change, these ecosystems need our help.
That’s where you come in!

- Jess Tout-Lyon: Charles Sturt University (CSU) A marine molecular and microbial ecologist based in beautiful Birpai Country.
- Sebastian Roe: Honours Research Student at Charles Sturt University, presenting eDNA results as part of research through CSU and OzFish.
- Sean Finn: OzFish Hastings Chapter President and NSW Fish Habitat Panel
- (TBC) Mark Bulley: Hastings River oyster farmer, a member of the NSW Research Advisory Committee and an advocate for healthy catchments.
- Alacia Cockbain: OzFish Unlimited
